Seklaoui Honored in Toura: to Support Farmers Relentlessly

The municipality of Toura honored in Tyre the Regie’s General Manager Mr Nassif Seklaoui, for his contribution in paving the village’s agricultural roads.

The municipality organized a ceremony, which was attended by the municipal chief Mr. Mohammad Haidar as well as municipal members, Al Risala scout, the Chief of the Sports Committee at the Municipality, Mr. Ibrahim Dbouk, representatives of Amal Movement and Hezbollah, in addition to a crowd including numerous notables.

The ceremony was commenced by the National Anthem, after which Haidar took the speech and thanked Siklaoui “for standing by the side of the village and its people through providing pavement to one of the village’s agricultural roads. Such step could save farmers from struggle and bearing the troubles of transportation means, as well as decreasing the distances.”

As well, he welcomed Mr. Seklaoui: “the arms of Toura are always widely opened to receive you, ensuring the cooperation that serves the citizens.”

In turn, Seklaoui thanked the municipal chief and the citizens for their “warm welcome” saying that “today is consecrated for the cooperation, participation in solving whatever problem on the development level, and contribution in the public interest.”

Seklaoui stressed: “our main concern at the Regie, after we have reached high level of financial and administrative achievements, is to follow the plan of sustainable development that we launched last year from President Berri’s office.”

He added: “until the present date we have executed more than 70 projects on different levels in different villages that are engaged in the tobacco farming process. Such projects include water ponds, school bus, tractors, agricultural construction center, supporting the Red Cross, etc…”

Pointing to such projects Seklaoui noted: “we were able to execute some of them in different regions in order to improve municipalities and support farmers to remain in their lands”. “The Regie will relentlessly support tobacco farmers in order to achieve better development. What we are doing is nothing but part of our duty and the core of our obligations toward our Lebanese fellows.”

At the end, Haidar offered Seklaoui a shield in recognition for his efforts. Then Seklaoui and the participants walked in the new road.
