aridaSeklaoui Inaugurates a Meeting Hall in the Border Town of Al-Arida

In the presence of MP Nidal Tohme, former MP Mustafa Hashem, Walid Al-Baarini, representing the former MP Wajih Al-Baarini, Khaled Al-Mere’bi, representing the former MP Talal  Al-Mere’bi, Mahmoud Hadara, representing the Arab Horse Breeders' Association, and the heads of municipalities, mayors, notables, residents of al-Arida town, and farmers, the Regie’s President and General Manager Mr. Nassif Seklaoui sponsored the inauguration of a meeting hall in the border town of Al-Arida, which was financed by the Regie.

After the ribbon cutting, the Imam of al-Arida mosque, Sheikh Khodor Akkari, delivered a speech in which he welcomed Seklaoui and the audience, thanking the "Regie administration for its initiative".

After delivering the greetings of the Speaker of the Parliament President Nabih Berri to the people of Akkar in general and to the people of Al-Arida in particular, Seklaoui spoke and thanked the audience. He praised the "effort of the farmers in the towns of Akkar plain". "We meet in the village of tobacco and tombac, where farmers adopted the tobacco farming in order to provide their living, especially in the village of Al-Arida that keeps receiving endless promises, after it offered martyrs, in addition to its strategic geographical location on the bank of the Great River at the border with Syria that was not enough to lift the deprivation of its people.
He added: "Because this village and its people deserve a decent and well developed life, because they are a model of unity and patience, in light of our role and our responsibilities towards our people, and within the series of developmental projects that the Regie planned to implement in 2017, we meet today to inaugurate this social building in Al-Arida. As well as social events, workshops will be held on "Agricultural Guidance" to improve the quality of plantations and reduce costs for farmers”.

Seklaoui then unveiled the memorial plaque that commemorates the event, and received memorial shields in appreciation for his efforts. The municipal chief of Tal Hayat Khalid Al Khalid had held a reception for Seklaoui at the entrance to the town, in the presence of the President of the Union of Municipalities of Akkar Plain, Mohamed El Masri, other municipal chiefs, activists, and farmers. Al-Khalid praised Seklaoui’s great efforts on the head of the Regie and his stand by the farmers. Seklaoui responded with a brief speech in which he thanked the people of the region for their warm reception.
