Regie launches Spring Board in South Lebanon
La Regie Libanaise Des Tabacs Et Tombacs (Regie) launched the 3rd phase of Spring Board workshops aimed at empowering women.

The workshops which are specialized for the daughters of tobacco farmers in South are similar to others held in previous months in Bekaa and North Lebanon.

The first workshop was held at the hall of Aitaroun Municipality with 15 participants whose ages varied between 18 and 25. Its first part was held over 2 days, Friday and Saturday, 11 and 12 January, and was headed by trainer Lina Shawki, whereas its second part was held on 18 and 19 January and was headed by Lebanese University Professor Naziha Al-Ameen and the Head of Haramoun Marathon Aida Jomaa.

The second part of the workshop witnessed the visit of the Irish battalion serving among UNIFIL forces. The forces encouraged female participants to continue their education and to achieve their goals, and noted that their battalion aims at providing two educational scholarships for them.

It is worth noting that the same program will be held in Aadshit and Toulin by the end of this month.

Meanwhile, the Head of the General Management Department Ms. Mariam Hariri introduced the program which is part of Manchar Souwar 2019 competition that focuses on the role of women. She also noted that the workshops are part of the “Spring Board” (Start Point) program aimed at empowering women to give them more self-confidence and self-appreciation in order to have a positive impact on their surroundings and also an impact of themselves personally and\or professionally.
