The Regie urges Salameh and banks to relieve farmers' checks

 

The Regie released a memo stating that "upon complaints made by farmers against banks, concerning the payment of their checks in installments, The Regie contacted several parties in order to resolve the issue. In this regard, it wrote a letter to the Governor of the Central Bank, Mr. Riad Salameh, as well as other banks with whom farmers deal". 
In the letter, the Regie pleaded parties to "speed up the payment of farmers'checks instead of paying them in installments. It asked, as well, not to cut any unreasonable sums of farmers' accounts in order to maintain the dignity of this hardworking segment of the Lebanese society.
