Engineer Seklaoui discusses with various representatives concerns of tobacco farmers

The Director General of La Regie Libanaise Des Tabacs Et Tombacs (Regie), Engineer Nassif Seklaoui received on Tuesday a delegation from the Syndicates of Tobacco and Tombac Farmers and discussed with its members the problems and difficulties the tobacco sector in Lebanon is facing especially with the increased production expenses. 
The meeting was attended by Engineer George Hobeika, and tobacco planting supervisors Engineers Abdel Mawla Al-Mawla, Jaafar Al-Husseini, and Hassan Hamadi. 
As for the delegation, it included the head of the Syndicates of Tobacco and Tombac Farmers who is also the Head of South Lebanon’s Syndicate Hassan Faqih, the Head of North Lebanon’s Syndicate Abdel Hamid Saqr, and the Head of Bekaa’s Syndicate Ali Al-Mousawi.
The delegation voiced the concerns of the farmers related to increased prices of fertilizers, pesticides and different agricultural supplies.
For his part, Engineer Seklaoui vowed to pass on the concerns of the farmers to the concerned authorities while delegation members mentioned that they will continue their consultations and will visit government officials and other officials from the Ministry of Finance.
