The Regie to start purchasing the harvest from farmers in Tripoli tomorrow

01 November 2020
The Chief of tobacco and tumbac union in North Lebanon, Abdel Hamid Sakr, has announced that “the Regie will start purchasing the harvest from farmers starting tomorrow, on Monday in the Regie’s center in Tripoli, with an increase of 50% increase in last year’s prices, in order to support farmers under the hard economic situation.”
“Purchase committees were reduced to only two due to the Covid-19 crisis”, he added, asking farmers “to respect health preventive measures when entering the Regie’s center in Tripoli by wearing masks and preventing hand shaking, as well as by delegating one farmer to deliver the harvest after signing the attached delegation form, smoothly following the purchase operation, showing a sense of cooperation and positivity between the farmers, the Union, and the Regie, and referring to the Union Chief or his representative in case of misunderstanding between farmers and purchase experts, in order to quietly solve the issue.”
He hoped God “to save our country and to bring the situation in Lebanon back to its nature.”
