Sekaloui visiting a project funded by the Regie in Douma: The Regie’s social development strategy should not stop
The Regie’s President and Director General Eng. Nassif Seklaoui, stressed during his inspection with members of the Board on Tuesday of a project funded by the Regie in 2019 in Douma, that the social development strategy that the Regie had implemented "must not stop under any circumstances", being one of the means with which challenges are being faced. Seklaoui and Board members, Eng. Georges Hobeika, Dr. Issam Salman, and Eng. Mazen Abboud, inspected, on Tuesday, the site of the Ain Akfal Rehabilitation Project, which was funded by Regie in 2019. In addition to rehabilitating the water source, which supplies Douma and the surrounding towns with some of their needs of potable water, the project included the construction of water collecting tanks that are used by the civil defense to put out fires, saving them time and energy to provide water from distant places before carrying out their missions, which had contributed to staving off fires and protecting surrounding green spaces. Seklaoui considered that "the project, which constitutes a need and an aesthetic canvas, is an example of what the Regie has carried out in terms of effective and inexpensive projects in partnership with the municipalities that take over the projection, supervision, and implementation." He reminded that these projects "have crossed the borders of regions and sects for the sake of the country and its human and natural environment, which the Regie has been keen to serve through its social policy, which was suspended, however it must not be stopped under any circumstances, as it represents one of the effective means to respond to the imminent challenges in an environment fraught with peril and surprises."
