From the ceremony of launching the partnership between British American Tobacco BAT and the Regie to manufacturing Byblos brand in Jordan.

The BAT Jordan, part of BAT international announced a partnership aiming to manufacturing Byblos cigarette brand with high quality for the benefit of the Regie, according to an agreement that was signed between both parties last August in Beirut. The BAT announced in its statement that the partnership between the parties aims to manufacturing “high quality” Regie products in Jordan and exporting them to Lebanon “for sale in the local market”. The partnership was announced during an event held under the auspices of the Minister of Industry and Trade and the Minister of Labor and in the presence of the Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Mrs. Dana Al Zouebi, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Investment Mr. Zaher Al Qatarna, and other Jordanian officials. The Regie was represented by Board members George Hobeika, Mazen Abboud, and Issam Salman; the Technical Advisor Salah Zidan; and the Director of Manufacturing Paul Ghoniemeh. The company’s statement explained that the BAT plant in Jordan was chosen for the implementation of the project “due to its manufacturing excellence”, reminding of the plant’s awards, including “its distinction as the first BAT facility to achieve carbon neutrality in the Middle East (phase one and two) and being one of the leading plants in quality production in Asia, Pacific, and Middle East”. The Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Mrs. Dana Al Zouebi considered the partnership: "an aspired model of partnership between leading Arab facilities”, considering that “this type of partnership strongly raises the principle of partnership across borders and sectors”. As for the member of the Regie's Board member, Engineer Mazen Abboud, he indicated that "the Regie has chosen to start its journey in manufacturing abroad with a modest step from Amman", hoping that "its step will bear fruit". BAT Middle East Market Director Pavel Bocharov described the partnership as a "distinguished milestone for the company's operations" in Jordan.
